What’s Coming Up at Immanuel-Joplin

Our upcoming events calendar includes Sunday Divine Services at 8:00 and 10:30 am, midweek Bible studies, Martin Luther School programs, youth group gatherings, seasonal worship opportunities, and community outreach events. We follow the Lutheran Church year, which means our worship and ministry life are shaped by Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and the season after Pentecost.

Sunday worship begins at 8:00 am and 10:30 am. Bible study follows the late service. Youth Group meets regularly on Sunday evenings. Martin Luther School hosts parent events throughout the school year. Church Council Meeting

  • 7:00 pm
Coordinating Mission and Ministry Through servant leadership, Immanuel’s Church Council works to coordinate the programs and activities of the various departments of the Congregation, with representatives from the Boards of Assimilation, Christian Day School, Christian Education, Elders, Evangelism, Finance, Property Maintenance, Stewardship, and Youth. The Council’s regular meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month. Ministry Staff Meeting

Ministry Staff Meeting | Wednesdays at 9:30 am The full-time Ministry Leadership Staff meets every Wednesday morning to plan, coordinate, evaluate and encourage one another. We also spend time in the Word together and pray for the needs of our people. This hour is one of the ways the church and the school stay one ministry instead of two. Confirmation Class — Wednesdays, Grades 6 and Up

Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, beginning September 9, 2026. Pastor Chris Ramstad leads students in 6th grade and above through the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism, through Confirmation Day on Sunday, May 2, 2027.

Helping Hand Sunday

  • Following Worship
On the last Sunday of each month, Immanuel Lutheran Church collects a special Helping Hand offering at the doors after worship. These gifts support local Joplin charities that walk alongside neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet — making a difference for Jesus’ sake.

Bible Study Hour

Fellowship Bible Study Join Pastor Ramstad in the Church Fellowship Hall each Sunday morning for the Fellowship Bible Study. This group of nearly 50 adults enjoy learning together about a variety of topics throughout the year. The class is open to all adults, and is held between the two Sunday services from 9:15 to 10:15 am during the school year.
