God With Us Since 1897
Immanuel Lutheran Church is Grounded in Christ, Guided by Grace and Growing to Serve in Joplin, Missouri.
What should you know about us?
One of the oldest churches in the area, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin has adapted, changed and grown a lot over the years, yet God has led us to cling firmly to What Matters Most—Jesus Christ and His good gifts of forgiveness, life and salvation.
In the year 2022, Immanuel celebrates 125 years in Joplin! You can learn more about our anniversary plans at immanueljoplin.com/CELEBRATE125.
Immanuel’s pastor is Rev. Bill Marler. Before joining us as Interim Pastor in July 2022, Pastor Marler served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri for 30 years and was a professor at Missouri State University. Pastor Marler was recently re-elected as First Vice-President of the LCMS Missouri District. We invite you to get to know our pastor and the rest of the Leadership Team.

Immanuel is committed to serving folks in Joplin and beyond through the efforts of our own Martin Luther School (preschool-8th grade), Comfort Dogs, Youth Ministry, Kids Ministry, Disaster Response and Mission Teams, and various other ministries. We hope you’ll visit us soon, continue to learn more about us, and get connected to what God is doing here at Immanuel Lutheran Church!
