Lutheran Confessions Study
2nd and 4th Thursdays | 5:30 PM | Fellowship Hall
The Lutheran Confessions Study is an adult Bible study for honest questions and confident faith. It meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Immanuel Lutheran Church, led by Elder Christopher Killebrew. Together we learn to give a clear, gracious answer for what we believe and why.
What We Study
Our text is Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions, published by Concordia Publishing House. The Lutheran Confessions are a set of documents written in the 1500s — and still in use today — in which Lutherans set out what they believe the Bible teaches. Concordia prints those documents alongside notes, definitions and explanations, so no background is needed to follow along.
Week by week we work through the Confessions so we are equipped to defend the faith, answer common objections, and point others to the hope we have in Christ. Bring a Bible and a willingness to ask questions.

Is This Class for Me?
Do I need to be a member of Immanuel? No. The class is open to everyone — members, visitors, and friends from the Joplin community alike. You do not need to belong to any church.
Do I need to know the Lutheran Confessions already? Not at all. We read together from the beginning, so newcomers and lifelong Lutherans are equally at home.
Do I need the book? No. Copies are available — ask in the church office, or just come and see.
What should I bring? Just a Bible. Come as you are, ready to learn and discuss.
