Apologetics Bible Class
Thursdays at 5:30 PM | Beginning July 9, 2026
This summer, join a new Lutheran Bible study in Joplin built for honest questions and confident faith. Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Apologetics Bible Class begins Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall, led by Elder Christopher Killebrew. Together we’ll learn to give a clear, gracious answer for what we believe and why.
What We’ll Study
Our text is Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions — the documents that define the doctrines of Scripture and shape what Lutherans believe, teach, and confess. Week by week we’ll dig into the Confessions so we are equipped to defend the faith, answer common objections, and point others to the hope we have in Christ. No prior background is needed; bring a Bible and a willingness to ask questions.

Is This Class for Me?
Do I need to be a member of Immanuel? No. The class is open to everyone — members, visitors, and friends from the Joplin community alike.
Do I need to know the Lutheran Confessions already? Not at all. We start from the beginning and read together, so newcomers and lifelong Lutherans are equally at home.
What should I bring? Just a Bible. Come as you are, ready to learn and discuss.
