Bible Institute 2019
Sunday Afternoons in February | Feb 10, 17, 24 | 1:30 to 4:00pm
Bible Institute is fast approaching. As you have heard, the Institute will cover three Sunday afternoons this month: February 10, 17 & 24 . We will be looking at two different aspects of sharing our faith: with those who are closest to us, and with those who come from a very different faith perspective.
The first two weeks we will be breezing through our church body’s newest evangelism approach, Everyone His Witness, a multi-media program
“designed to equip disciples of Jesus Christ to share the Gospel in their everyday lives with the people whom God has placed into relationships with them.”

God’s people witness to those in the world so that people who do not know the Lord will learn of Him and His grace. Without this witness, people who are perishing would not hear the good news of the life and salvation won for them by Jesus. Christian witness stands in contrast to the false teachings of the world (see Isaiah 43:8-12). The witness of God’s people is meant for all people in all places through all time. It is this aspect of witness on which we will focus in Everyone His Witness so that we can become more active and effective in sharing the Good News of Jesus with people in our lives.

On the final week of the Institute, we will be visited by a minister from People of the Book Lutheran Outreach, who describe their mission as Meeting the physical, social, and spiritual needs of Muslims and others in the US by sharing the love of Jesus in practical and culturally relevant ways. Many Muslim families do not have meaningful contact with Christians, and, it is safe to say, most of us have extremely limited knowledge of Muslims. POBLO does not try to gloss over the differences between the ways of Islam and the Word of Life, but rather shares ideas and testimonies which can lead to friendship, witness and caring between people who have been taught to fear each other.
